FAQ’s Question: When should I reserve my cake? I limit the number of cakes to 1-2 per week. Cakes are booked 6-12 months in advance especially for peak wedding season which is June through September with Saturdays being the most popular day. Celebration cakes should be booked at least 4-6 weeks in advance or sooner to guarantee your date will be available. At certain times I may have availablility with shorter notice. Question: How do you price your cakes? My cakes are priced per serving starting at $3.75 per serving and increases with flavor choices and design. I do have a $100.00 miminim order. Question: The facility I am renting for my reception/party requires that all food including the cake come from a licensed baker/caterer. Are you a licensed baker? Yes, I have a Washington State business license, a City of Renton business license, a food handlers permit, and a Health permit to prepare my cakes in a shared commercial kitchen that I rent in Renton, Washington. Question: Where are you located? I do NOT have a retail storefront. I am a "by-appointment-only" custom wedding cake and elaborate celebration cake business. I rent a shared commercial kitchen that is located at 281 SW 41st St, Renton WA (close to IKEA). Queston: Do you have tastings? Yes, I have wedding cake tastings which are complimentary for 80 servings or more and by appointment only. To keep my tastings complimentary I only rent the conference room at my Renton location one day a month. Question: Do your cakes taste as good as they look? Yes! I receive many compliments on how moist and delicious my cakes are. I make all of my cakes and frostings from scratch and not from a mix. I make a "true buttercream" called Italian Meringue Buttercream which is a silky smooth icing that contains butter instead of shortening which is found in Amercian style buttercreams. For wedding cakes you have your choice of buttercream or fondant. Fondant cakes will have a layer of buttercream under it. All of my celebrations cakes are buttercream covered with fondant. My ingredients for your cake are always fresh and I use only the finest ingredients. Question: Can I choose more than one flavor? Yes, with stacked or tiered cakes you can have each tier a different flavor. There is no additional charge for this option, although there is an upgrade for specialty flavors. Question: Does fondant taste good? Yes, my fondant is delicious. It is custom made for me and it has a vanilla marshmallow flavor. I also have a chocolate fondant that taste like tootsie roll. I do put buttercream underneath my fondant so you have the best of both worlds. Question: Do you provide fresh flowers for my cake? It is the brides responsibility to provide fresh flowers for the cake. Please let your florist know that the flowers will be placed on a cake so that they can make sure the flowers are nontoxic and pesticide free. If you would like me arrange the flowers to place on your cake I charge $20 per tier. This cost covers my time as well as the floral wires, floral tape and water picks ect,. Question: What are the alternatives to fresh flowers? I can make sugar paste flowers that are absolutely beautiful and you can keep them as a keepsake or you can use silk flowers. Question: Why is the deposit nonrefundable? A $100.00 deposit will reserve your date with the balance owed due 4 weeks prior to your reception date. The deposit is nonrefundable because this date is dedicated and reserved for you. You can make changes to your design and servings up to 4 weeks prior to your reserved date. Question: Do you require a deposit for Party cakes? Yes. I ask for a nonrefundable 50% deposit of your cake when you book and the remainder 2 weeks prior to your date. Question: Do you deliver? Yes, I charge $35.00 for the first 10 miles and $1.00 per mile after that based on oneway mileage. This includes delivery and setup. Please have your table decorated and ready for the cake to be place on it. Question: How do I contact you?
