Wedding Cake Tastings
Please know that all of my cakes are moist, delicious and baked fresh for your special day. If you have not had the opportunity to taste one of my cakes and you'd like to schedule a complimentary tasting please view my calendar for tasting dates and email me to schedule a time on that date. I encourage you to bring 2 additional guest that can include the groom, your mom, your maid of honor or your wedding planner. I do limit addtional guests to 2 so that you can focus on the tasting and design of your cake. I will call 48 hours prior to your tasting date to confirm your appointment.
While I do bake my cakes in a commercial kitchen, I do have my cake tastings in my home on beautiful Lake Tapps. You will find that is it a casual and relaxed enviroment and I encourage you to bring photos of cakes, photos of your wedding dress, your invitation, ribbon with your wedding colors and anything that you think will inspire a custom design for your cake. A great way to get color samples is to go to your paint store and pick out some paint chips of your favorite colors. I also recommend you have a budget in mind as I can work with any budget to create the cake of your dreams.
I will have books with many wedding cake photos for you and the other guests to browse through. I will provide you with a packet of information including a cake tasting sheet so that you can write down your favorite combinations and a wedding cake contract for you to take home and look over. I will serve my double chocolate cake and vanilla cake as well as a variety of flavored buttercreams for you to mix and match to acheive the combination you like best. If you would like to request a cake flavor please let me know.
Tastings take about 1 hour and are scheduled once a month on a Monday or Tuesday (availability calendar). Please email me to schedule a time on these dates. I look foward to meeting you and helping you design the cake of your dreams.
Cancellations: I do understand that things happen in life and a cancellation or a reschedule may occur. I do ask that you be curteous and respect my time and cancel at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. I set aside this time especially for you and I also bake all of my cakes fresh for your tasting the day before your appointment.
If you are having an outdoor wedding in the summer please keep in mind that heat and cakes don't go well together. Buttercream will melt. If you absolutly need to have the cake outdoors I recommend a sturdy table that is covered from the sun and that your cake remain indoors (airconditioned is best) until 2 hours before serving.
